Senior Pastor Mesfin Tilaye
In 1991, Pastor Mesfin received a clear calling from God for full-time ministry while in Rome. Reflecting on the biblical question posed to the prophet Isaiah, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ he responded humbly, saying, ‘Here am I; send me.’ During his time in Rome, he served as an elder at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church for two years. Following that, he spent an additional year working closely with the head pastor, engaging in teaching, preaching, and church administration. Pastor Mesfin was subsequently ordained by the Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Rome and commissioned to teach and minister. As an ordained minister, he has faithfully served various cities in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence, and Bologna.
In 1988, Pastor Mesfin Tilaye married Aynalem Demise (Nunu), his childhood friend whom he loved dearly. They had the opportunity to serve the Lord together in a local church choir. God blessed them with three wonderful sons: Abey Mesfin, Samuel Mesfin, and Natan Mesfin.
Throughout their journey of faith, they witnessed the love and faithfulness of God in their marriage, in their children’s lives, and in their ministries as well. When their firstborn, Abiye, was diagnosed with heart disease, they were very shocked and overwhelmed, but the Lord strengthened their hearts, and He faithfully helped them put their trust in Him. God’s miraculous intervention prolonged their son’s life, and now he is married to his beloved wife, Rekik, and they have two sons and one daughter, residing in Pennsylvania.
Their second son, Samuel, lives in Georgia with his spouse, Hanna, and their daughter. There, they serve the Lord full-time as a youth pastor. Their youngest son, Natan, who attends college, serves the Lord in the choir by playing the keyboard.
They praise the Lord who has blessed them greatly with 4 grandkids through their three sons and four grandkids.
